Navy: Data Gap Analysis
The Challenge:
The Department of Defense was looking to implement a program to combine the various purchasing activities across the entire department of defense into one consolidated effort to harness the buying power of one large organization. The purchasing activities varied from one department to the other and had little coordination as well as lack of standardization in the acquisition process.
The Solution:
Catapult Consultants teamed up with Censeo, a specialist in Strategic Sourcing, to develop a plan to identify the challenges within the current purchasing process. To accomplish this, Catapult Consultants analyzed the purchasing data across the departments and recognized inconsistencies and/or lack of data normally used in a successful acquisition plan.
The Benefit:
Working with Catapult Consultants, the Department of Defense was able to develop a purchasing strategy that consolidated and streamlined their many purchasing activities into several planned and timed activities that enabled a reduction in total cost of ownership for acquired goods and services as well as standardization for the acquisition process.
